Meet the people behind ECHO, the majority of whom are volunteers, who manage to balance busy personal lives (and in most cases a full time job too!) with working to help and support parents of heart-children through their voluntary work for ECHO.
They include the Trustees, Nick, Margaret, Jane, Joanne, Grant and Alex; the Consultants, Jo and Jessica and the Committee Members, Sal, Barbara, Catriona and Matt.
We also have our wonderful team of Area Contacts, who each look after a specific area of the country (mainly in the South East of England, but with more and more children from other more far-flung parts of the UK being treated at the Evelina, we may soon be looking for people to volunteer as Area Contacts for Northern England, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland). They are available to speak to parents on the phone, and often organise coffee mornings and other local events, which, vitally, enable parents to meet up near where they live, and which often creates life-long friendships.
If you would like to help ECHO by volunteering to join the Committee or becoming an Area Contact, we would love to hear from you. Please e-mail Jo Wilson on: director@echo-evelina.org.uk.
