Please complete our membership form and send to Jessica Cattermole at ECHO, PO Box 5015, Brighton BN50 9JR. Or you can email it to Jessica at admin@echo-evelina.org.uk. Membership of ECHO is free, but if you would like to make a donation, however small, it would be gratefully received.
We are always looking for new committee members. If you are interested in joining the ECHO committee please contact Jo Wilson at jowilson@echo-evelina.org.uk. The committee meet every six weeks at Ronald McDonald House and we are a very friendly bunch!
One of the most important ways ECHO can support parents is by sending volunteers to visit parents whilst they are staying on Camel ward (or in PICU) with their child. A friendly visitor who understands what they are going through, who has the time to sit and talk/listen to them and tell them about the support ECHO and other groups can offer them can make a big difference, especially to parents of newly diagnosed children or those whose home is a long way from London and who are cut off from friends and family.
If you are the parent of a heart-child who lives (or works) close to the Evelina, and would be willing (and able!) to spare an hour or two every so often to go up to the Cardiac Ward and spend some time with parents there, we would be extremely grateful to hear from you.
First visits are always accompanied by an experienced ward visitor to show new recruits “the ropes”, and we are very happy to reimburse any travel expenses incurred.
For further information or to volunteer, please contact Jo Wilson on 01932 864893 or e-mail jowilson@echo-evelina.org.uk.
