Counselling Services at the Evelina

Bereavement Message Board

Visit our Message Board which will give you the opporunity to contact other families who are dealing with similar circumstances and experiences.

There are two Counsellors available at the Evelina for bereaved parents and, indeed, for any parents experiencing a difficult time emotionally. The service offers support and/or counselling. Their role is not to judge or advise but just to listen, explore possible consequences and challenges which may lie ahead and to give parents space to think through what they are experiencing, helping to make sense of their feelings. Parents may wish to meet with a Counsellor once or, if felt to be helpful, weekly meetings could be offered.

How can you contact the counsellors?

  • Call directly on:
    020 7188 4538 / 020 7188 9116
(24 hour answering machine – calls will be returned as soon as possible)
  • Through your child’s doctor or nurse
  • Write to:
Counsellor Practitioner Service, 2nd Floor, Gassiot House, St. Thomas’ Hospital, Lambeth Palace Road, London, SE1 7EH
  • E-mail:
    Mollie.Cook@gstt.nhs.uk
